The owners of this large estate and horse barn began the process of lowering their electric bill in 2008. Using the energy-efficiency techniques of Dr. Energy Saver, this family implemented a regimen of energy conservation measures to improve the insulation, heating, cooling, and comfort of their home. These efforts reduced their electricity consumption by over 50%. A 10 kW solar array installed on the barn was able to offset over 20% of their remaining consumption. Utility savings over the lifetime of the system are projected to exceed $118,000.
